I have the 1/24 Garmin topo cd for the north east. Hve some loaded on a micro sd that was used in my 78S. When I get my new gps unit will I be able to use this micro sd card as wellas download additional areas from the cd? I recall reading that the cd is locked to one device? So if a person upgrades gps units the !00 cd is worthless?
My TOPO 24K DVD's are all unlocked (I can load the maps to as many units as I like). Pre-programmed Garmin cards are locked (to the card). Downloaded maps are locked to the particular unit you purchased them for.
So, unless Garmin changed something, you're good to go :)
