How do I delete a map from(New England Topo) from the on board memory of a 78S. I did a master reset but it shows up in the map list as being able to enable/disable. I would like it gone as I'm selling the unit. Can I do it from Basecamp?
Speaking of map removal, when I installed CNNA 2015.3 to my laptop and three devices last week, I always uninstall the earliest CNNA using control panel from the computer, so I have only two, just in case there is a real problem with the latest one. This time I removed CNNA 2014..4, AND BASECAMP WAS REMOVED AS WELL! :mad::(

No. But you should be able to delete it via Windows Explorer, maps will be in the Garmin folder.
I went into the Garmin folder but the map from gps file depot New England Topo dose not show. It has to be in a folder/file somewhere. I have no clue what I'm looking for.
look for files with the .img suffix in the Garmin folder. One of them is the map you want to delete. You could try renaming each file from .img to .omg till you find the unwanted map has disappeared. Now change the other files back to .img. And don't forget to look on the Garmin folder of the sd card .

The .img file I can find is gmapbmap.img. Its only 43 MB, should be 131 MB. It should not be this difficult to delete a map.
It generally isn't. That map is the base map. What files are listed in the Garmin folder?
custom maps,custom symbols,extdata,filters,gpx,jpeg,profiles,sql,text,gmapbmap,gmapsupp,gmaptz(all three of these are a disk image file),gmapbmap.sum.I bet these last 4 gmap files are it. Forgot the last two which are garmin device and garmintraingletm whjch has a blue triangle in front of it.
