Basecamp 4.4.6 won't import KMZ file

I am trying to import a KMZ file from Google Earth. Using Basecamp 4.4.6, Google Earth 7.1.2.2041, and Windows7 64bit. Import to Basecamp produces:

C:\Users\GregQ\Documents\My Maps\Echo Lake Quadrangle.kmz Warning GroundOverlay:Echo Lake Quadrangle:Invalid LatLonBox.

An entry appears in 'My Collection' but nothing displays on the map. The 'My Collection' entry has an entry within it which I select and change the 'Draw Order' to '100' but still nothing shows up on the map.

P.S. I am trying to make a custom map.

Did you use the option "Convert to LatLonQuad" in Google Earth? That way you can position the four corners of the image independently; useful when the image needs to be deskewed.
Problem is that BaseCamp doesn't support this option... Only rectangular overlays are allowed, with optional a rotation parameter.
