No connection with device

Hello All;

Since a while when Basecamp in launch, I can't have a connection with my garmin zumo lm 350.

Before it worked all right, garmin express is working all right , to tell you that the connection is working.

It says "no device connected to Basecamp".

Do you have any idee what it might be ,

I have not been able to reproduce this. Is your device up to date? You have the latest firmware?

Hello,
Yes , the gps did everything with garmin express, I have the latest version of basecamp.

It connect with garmin express alright, on windows , I can see it , no problem; but not with basecamp anymore. :(

Have you tried rebooting your PC?

Yes , I did that also, and wait to see what will happend, but no connection.
I will unisntall basecamp and reinstall it.
I will let you know if it works, this might be interresting informations for the developpers of basecamp.

I have the same problem with my Dakota 20. It started about six month ago and never came to a solution. Uninstalling and reinstalling Basecamp did not help. Updating the .Net Framework (as suggested here on this forum) did not help either. Used both USB 2.0 as USB 3.0 ports, but no go. The odd thing is, that Windows Explorer does see the device, as well does Garmin's MapSource. It's just Basecamp that refuses to connect my Dakota.

Yes , I just did reinstall everything and no improvement.
Indeed, windows see it, garmin express ok, Basecamp :mad:

This is it. this thing never work properly, worse buy I ever did.

The device is fine. The problem is Basecamp. You might wish to try Mapsource. It's older and no longer supported and it is missing some of the features of Basecamp. But it's easy to copy stuff back and forth between Basecamp and Mapsource. That way you can still use Basecamp for things that Mapsource won't do and move the results back to the device through Mapsource, and vice versa. Yes, it's a nuisance but it will work. And depending on what you want to do you might be able to do it all in Mapsource.

thank you for your advice.
I am a motor biker and part of a group and many told me that indeed that mapsource is better.
The thing that's making me angry, is , that I spend a lot of money for this and I spend more time to fix problems then using it.

Indeed the device is ok.

I understand your frustration. If it helps, just keep in mind that Basecamp and Mapsource are free. So in both cases we are getting much more than we are paying for. :)

Not in my case

Garmin express is working fine; when I clic in Basecamp on, "peripheral" then on "up dates " I see my zumo.
But to connect "from device , or to device" nothing; also I test with the connector plugin, it does not find the device;

the probleme is that rhise two progs don't have a possibility to chose a port or sometings , the do it all by themself and tell you "NO device connected"
