*4.4.5 as a version number was skipped to be in-line with the Mac version.
  • Installed fine. Following issue occurs: I draw a track on my computer and it is not fully completed (for instance because along the way I want to mark a new waypoint). Then when I want to draw further on the track, it is not possible anymore. It seems the ending point of the part that I drew first is always remembered and BaseCamp always wants to insert a new point along the way in the last part of the track
  • This is a known bug that should be corrected in the next version. Workaround is to create a second track then join the two together.

Just updated to 4.4.6 from 4.3.X. In 4.3, when I imported a GPX file and converted the track to a route, BC would give the option to let BC choose the number of shaping points, or manually limit the number of shaping points. In 4.4.6 that choice is gone, and it creates the route with *no* shaping points, just start and end points. The directions follow the route, but if you deviate from the route (like stopping at a gas station) the GPS recalculates to the fastest route. I don't know if it's possible to manually add shaping points, but I do know it would be a real PITA to have to do so on the typical country road motorcycle rides I plan (which need 40-50 points).

I guess this was a conscious change in BC 4.4.6 - any workarounds, or is there a setting somewhere else?
  • There is a bug in 4.4.6 which is known about. To get what you need set the activity profile to Direct, you then get the options you want.

Doesn't install on Windows Tech Preview

Displays an error saying you have an incorrect version of dotnet, when it tries to install latest, windows prevents the install stating that it is already present. Garmin Bascamp install then exits.
  • I'm not surprised, given that Windows Tech Preview is effectively a development program for Windows 10. Perhaps when/if Win10 is released it will.

any news on an update for basecamp
I still cant use it with the satnav connected
  • We have an update pending hopefully very soon. I am not entirely sure when it will be released.

I am not familiar with your satnav issue. Have you already posted a thread? Perhaps I missed that? Can you describe the nature of your issue?

basecamp runs fine on its own, but if I have the satnav connected basecamp crashes just after it starts up
