  • Definitely. Create the route using the motorcycle profile and 'curvy' option. Now create another route using the automobile profile, inserting vias so it matches the 'motorcycle' route. Send the automobile route to the nuvi, then you should be OK although as MRGPS.NL pointed out, if you deviate from the route then the nuvi will recalculate.
  • Installed the update Friday. I tried to use it for calibrating a hike and I doesn't set the track elevation to the map elevation. I am using a Garmin 450t with TOPO 100K. This worked in previous versions. Needs to be fixed ASAP.
    Thanks
  • Now create another route using the automobile profile

That works. However; you may find its even easier to convert te motorcycle route to a track; then recalculate as automobile ans add via's to make te route fit the track. It prevents editing the 'wrong' route of the two.
Note: when deviating from the route the Nuvi will just recalculate to the next via. The rest of the route will remain intact. However: if you would add a via to the route; the whole route willen be recalculated.
Since it'snot specific for 4.4.6. you might want to start a seperate thread if you need more info on this.

    Basecamp Update

I have tried to update to 4.4.6 but I get a message saying file is corrupt - any ideas?

Thanks, Stuart. I waited for the automatic update request to show up, which was several weeks after the problem was noted by the early adopters. I got the corrupt file message and had forgotten that it had been covered already, so I was pleased when the link that you reminded us of worked like a charm. I was afraid that I was going to have to manually uninstall and reinstall; this was much simpler.
  • Bump, from a couple of weeks ago:
Last August, in the "4.3.5 available" thread, I reported:

"In the lower data pane, setting the sort to ”by name” is not kept between sessions, when you re-open it reverts to "by symbol". Even just swapping map and data views will screw up the sort order. I think this had been fixed in 4.2.5 but maybe I saw this on-and-off problem mentioned as having returned on a previous 4.3.x version thread, but assumed it should have been corrected by this one?"

JM47048 responded that this was a known issue.

It seems this is still not fixed in 4.4.6. Any chance this bug could get priority to be fixed soon? Seems a straightforward matter that's been around too long... Thanks in advance.

I just changed my sort order, and re-ran the application and this appeared to work.

Can you tell me more about what it is your trying to sort? Is it just my collection? A single list? Data on your device?
  • Not the device, only data in BC. It doesn't matter what I have selected--a list, a folder, or "My Collection", I'm sorting the data shown in the lower left pane, i.e. the contents of what I have selected above. It defaults to being sorted by Symbol. I always want it sorted by Name. So first thing after opening BC, I sort that pane by Name using the gear icon at the top right of the lower pane. It stays that way as long as I use BC until I close the app. Then re-opening BC, that pane is always again sorted by symbol, and I have to re-sort it by Name again. (BC 4.4.6, Win 8.1, 2013.2)

You had previously said this was a known bug, now you are asking what is the bug? No offense intended, but just how do you keep track of reported bugs so they are surely dealt with? There are many of us out here who are really trying to help out with our observations, so BC can be further improved, but my confidence in your process is a little shaken now... That said, I really appreciate all that is done to make it better, which it is, many times over, from when it was first introduced as the MS replacement.
