Can I create an area in BaseCamp and transfer it to my GPS?
I've outlined the area with latitude and longitude (it's a prohibited fishing area) but don't know how to get it to my GPS.
Long answer is there is a way but not just using BC, it requires you to create a transparent 'map' with the area outlined by using tracks, and will depend on which GPS you have. To do it:
Draw a track in BC that outlines the area. Export it as a .GPX file. Use http://www.javawa.nl/imgfromgpx_en.html to create a track map overlay. Load it on your gps. Enable it via the map settings. It will be visible above any other map that's also showing.
