BaseCamp is 4.4.4 now available and can be downloaded here:

http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4435

This release does not support XP.

Installation of this version will overwrite your previous BaseCamp installation.

Here are the changes made in this version:
  • Fixed several issues when using the Pan Tool and the <ALT> key to move route points
  • Fixed autorouting issue where straight line segments were inserted after each waypoint
  • Improved track to route behavior. Now supports preserving the shape of track sections that aren't near a road.
  • Improved handling in situations where the computer is low on memory
  • Changed displayed route times to take layovers into account
  • Fixed issue with 'higher education' map symbols showing up as airports
  • Fixed certain instances of route direction text where the text was 'turn left/right' instead of 'bear left/right'
  • Fixed issue when recalculating a route via the context menu in the data list
  • Fixed various issues sending data to memory cards
  • Changed to automatically unlock BirdsEye for a device when sending the BirdsEye to a card in that device
  • Fixed various issues with Adventure search
  • Fixed issue sending ADM files to cards for marine devices
  • Added the command line option /Disable3D to disable the 3D view in BaseCamp. This was added to prevent startup issues with misbehaving graphics drivers.

Post here if you have questions.

The non-English language version of the software will be available through the in-application software update check shortly.

Please post any bugs you may find here.

Thank you all in advance for any feedback you may have.

*4.4.3 as a version number was skipped to be in-line with the Mac version.
  • As previously reported there is some wierd stuff going on with search. One nitpick issue is that the first two entries in the results list are always duplicates.
I did have an issue where the map window would fill with 40 or so result balloons but the list would only show 4-5 entries. Selecting find more would fill out the list.
I deleted the product data cache and have not been able to duplicate the second issue.

This is with map CNNA 2015.3
  • :)
    What was your approach then?

    I normally;

    Hit Ctrl + Alt + F

Then fill in the boxes as necessary

I'm not seeing that ... see my screenshot above.
  • Hit Ctrl + Alt + F

Yep. That works fine. Should be the default when pressing the magnifier-searchbutton.
  • Very sorry, but I found a quite serious bug; probably also has to do with some kind of refresh.

    Please try to reproduce:
    - create a simple route
    - open the route dialogue
    - search for POI's (ctrl alt F ;))
    - drag a POI into the route

    You'll see: it somehow freezes

    - close the route-dialogue
    - open it again: you'll see no via's at all
    - open ANY other route: no via's to be seen

    -close basecamp and restart
    - doubleclick on a route
    - the via's are back...
  • (and meanwhile you have a problem with the forum-software too..... :(

    MSI Error: InstallFailure

I just installed it. The update was issue free. I'll leave it to others to test the fixes (esp. routing).

Yesterday a update request was displayed on my screen so I accepted and BaseCamp 4.4.4 started downloading. When trying to install the program the bar turns green till appr. 60%, than it halts and displays MSI Error: InstallFailure.
I have tried to install 4.2.5 to get at least the program back, no result! Restoring to a point prior to last Sunday also fails.
In short: no BaseCamp available for me at this time. Any recommendations / solutions?

Yep, that's what it should look like, but NOT working here! Not even after i cleared the Basecamp cache.

Quite silly; everyone knows the royal palace is a hamburger restaurant, not chinese ;)

    HOWEVER:

    check the sequence below:

    - press the search icon right above
    - press 'more' at 'points of interest'
    - select food and drink - chinese - same problem as above

    - then press options (upper right icon)
    - at 'more options' chinese still is selected
    - then press search: only chinese restaurants will show

(tested in BC - English language; dutch Win7 64k).

I am opening a case for this. Thank you for the feedback.

Backup your data. Uninstall everything. Start over with the latest version. Should fix your issue.
