Getting GPS to Precisely Reflect Its Contents in "My Collection"

I just bought a 62stc but this specifically refers to an Oregon 450. If the answer to my upcoming question applies to both, please let me know, thanks.

Just bought a used Oregon 450 to play with and because price is right. My goal is off-road for hunting. Ok, so all software is current, including latest firmware and basecamp, etc.

So I transfer info from the device to basecamp. Then in the BC windowpane, I delete all the stuff from the previous user that I don't want. I also have a couple of important TRACKS from a couple of hikes I did the past couple of weeks. I realize deleting something from a list doesn't delete the original so I'm working with the originals in BC and deleting everything right down to where I have everything I want and its looking nice and neat.

Now...

How do I send that new cleaner, more organized, streamlined "collection" BACK to the Oregon 450 so that THAT is all the 450 has in it? After I sent "My Collection" to the device, it seemed the device STILL had on it the things I had deleted in BC. If I import from device, I get all the stuff I deleted back.

My PRIMITIVE solution was to just go into the GPS as a hard drive and delete those things I could recognize as being from the previous owner. But I don't think its thorough or efficient.

Can anyone please tell me if there's an easier way to do all that? And is it basically the same for my 62stc.

Thanks,
Sam

Ok, I might've just finally solved my own problem. I just happened to notice a section in BC that says "Internal Storage" which is for the device. So I deleted everything in there I no longer wanted. Now, if I hadn't already done that in "My Collection" would I have just cleaned up the device then imported it all? I guess I'm just wondering how I make changes in My Collection on BC and have them REPLACE the originals on the device. Or how I can delete something in My Collection and have it delete the original on the device.

Does the device have sync or auto-sync somehow?

I don't own a 62S but did recently have an Oregon 450 (sold it but not to a "Sam"--as far as I know). That said I think they operate very similarly.

Unfortunately Garmin products are "all over the map" in regards to many thing (operation, technicalities etc).

As to your specific questions I refer you to my reply to another post of yours.
