The ability to add categories to waypoints/favorites was added in BC 4.3.0.1 Beta (from memory). Yesterday I bulk added/edited a number of categories using BC.4.4.2. BC currently doesn't have a way to filter (i.e. only show) waypoints/favorites by category like MapSource. I don't recall if this feature has been discussed (couldn't find anything) before. Is this a planned feature?
Thanks but I'm not seeing how. I went to "Data View" in BC 4.4.2 but can only get Symbol, Name and Type headings. The only option I see is to "Reset Headers" not add/remove/move them. Your post implies there's a way to show a Category heading.
PS: Never mind I figured it out. You have to show only waypoints to get the "Categories" heading. Thanks for the tip.
PPS: It's not exactly what I want since some waypoints are in 6 or so categories but it's better than nothing.
Ok I'll state what I'm trying to accomplish, with Categories, to see if there's a current or future mechanism that I could use.
I have a large number of waypoints and am trying to show only ones that belong to select Categories. Think the intersection of a number of sets (mathematics).
For example say I have three Categories ("Sets"): A, B and C. I'd like to determine, easily, what waypoints are in Categories A, B and C.
The sort mechanism. mentioned in this thread, could work but in my case many of the waypoints are also in Categories D, E and F. My actual category names are longer than a single letter meaning that not all can be displayed at once.
