Can't see OSM Map

G'day,

just started playing with Basecamp a few weeks ago and I am now trying to install the US map from www.openmapchest.org. on Basecamp only at this stage so I can play with it on the PC first.

Managed to download and unzip the file called gmapsupp.img and moved it into C:/ProgramData/Garmin/Maps.

I assumed that it will then be available from the dropdown list in Basecamp (4.3.5) to select. Not there, still only have the one that came with my Zumo 390LM.

Can somebody please let me know what I am doing wrong.

You can't use that method. For Basecamp to read a map from the C drive it has to be properly installed using an .exe file, if the map maker has supplied one. In your case you have a .img file

Basecamp should read that if you place it on a sd card or usb stick, in a folder named Garmin. Alternatively place it in the Garmin folder of your zumo, that will work also.

On the site where you download your map, just under the download button is a link for Basecamp Installer.

Hi CULLET,

that would be most useful, but I don't see the link. I am on this page http://www.openmapchest.org/maps/united-states . Even bothered to create an account and log in and the only additional download is the map file I already have. Where EXACTLY is that Basecamp Installer link ?

Ben has not provided a BaseCamp (Win/Mac) Installer for the US Maps - not sure why. Send him an email and ask.
