Find water in map and export to mij Carmin

Hello,

I want to find all water in a selected area without zooming in very close. So if there is a blue spot on the map, i want to flag it, export it to my Carmin. But i want to do this without searchin for water zoomed in very close, and searching a large area. I want to select an area from 5square km and that every water will be selected. Is there something like that. Or can someone give me advice or point me to an answer.

Perhaps I could use a little more detail. What is the nature of the kind of routes you are trying to create? Are these hiking routes and you're trying to find nearby water sources? Can you tell me what map you are working with? Hopefully with that I will be better able to answer your question.
