No duplicate warning with Drag 'n Drop in Basecamp

I had created a few waypoints on my GPSMAP 64 and accepted the default waypoint names; 024, 025, 026, 027, 028 029.
When I got home and connected the handheld to the computer, I dragged these six waypoints into a list I had been working on.
Unfortunately, in one of my Basecamp older lists, there already was an 026 and 027.
The "new" 026 and 027 from the handheld did not overwrite the older 026 and 027 in Basecamp.
It just put a copy of those two old waypoints in my new list.
No warning text, no query of options to overwrite, make a copy, rename, etc.
I did not notice that they had the wrong coordinates until after I had deleted them off the handheld.
Basecamp should really have some sort of popup dialog when it sees the same names but different coordinates when importing data.
I think it automatically adds .001 to waypoint names when importing GPX files.
But it apparently doesn't do any checking when using drag 'n drop of waypoints from the handheld back into a list.

Thank you for the feedback. I will attempt to replicate this.

I am not able to replicate this in the 4.4 beta. Would you be willing to try out the beta and see if this problem still exists? If it has already been fixed, then the new version will accommodate this issue. Let me know if you have any questions.

I have just returned from a holiday and found the same problem of new but duplicate numbered waypoints being ignored (and replaced by out of date ones without warning!) when I Send to and when I copy/paste from my GPSMAP 62stc to Basecamp 4.4.4
Fortunately I have backed up the contents of the GPX folder from my 62stc to a windows folder and can see each individual file. There is a Waypoints_15-NOV-14.gpx file containing only the new waypoints for that day and others dated for each day of the holiday. There is also a waypoints.gpx file which seems to contain every previous waypoint I ever had even though I believe I deleted everything from my device before I went on holiday. Clearly Basecamp is being too clever for itself and uses the old list as well as the new when sending to or copying even though it uses only the new ones when displaying the contents of 'internal storage'. This is clearly a bug and needs urgent fixing before someone else deletes the only copy of new waypoints from their device. I have now tried renaming waypoints.gpx to waypoints1.gpx and this alters the Basecamp behaviour a bit: if I click on waypoints-15-nov-14.gpx I get only 4 waypoints listed which matches reality BUT unfortunately Bascecamp still overrides the new 002 and 003 with ones from the past which I assume must be buried somewhere else in Basecamp's input to this logic - I hope these tests help the developers home in on this bug.

I have opened a case. Thanks for the feedback.
