Can the capacity for Birdseye images be increased by adding memory - etrex 20?

I want to download probably about 10 gig of Birdseye images and keep them on my etrex 20. Can I add 16 gig of memory and will that make it possible? Will it slow things down? Thanks for your help!
  • Well it will take a 32Gb card but with that amount of imagery it may be slow to boot.

I have a 32GB card in my Oregon 450 and have about 2.3GB of Birdseye imagery on it. That seems to work fine. There is a limit to the number of JNX (imagery) files that a unit can handle.

What are the file limitations of my outdoor mass storage or MTP device?

    250 BirdsEye Imagery files

PS: As SUSSAMB said having a large amount of imagery will likely affect boot time. My 450 is very slow (minutes) to boot probably because of the number of maps (IMG files) I have on the card. That is not a problem, generally, for me because of the way I use the unit (hiking primarily). It would be a real pain for automotive use.
