Repost: JEKnudson Frustration

Simplified re-post due to lost forum posts:

1. A few days ago, new user JEKnudson expressed a high level of frustration with BaseCamp and questioned buying a Zumo if he could not make routes for it.

2. Others suggested alternates such as MapQuest or Tyre.

3. I opined that in the long run, BC was preferred since it uses the same maps as on the Zumo he had purchased and therefore would more reliably make routes the Zumo would follow, and if learned, BC can do what he needs.

4. I suggested that If he is near Iowa, I would be glad to sit down with him over coffee and help him get started on the right foot with BC. There is no end to the helpful people here on this forum, so I suggested that if he’s not near me, and if he would let us know where he is, it was very possible that there was someone in that area who would meet with him in person and could be as, or more, helpful than I could be.

Don’t know if JEKnudson is still around, I think he went ridin’?

    Hello C14,

Well written post and a nice offer to help.

    Here is another idea.
I have helped several over the phone with both of us at our respective computers.
Actually easier than meeting because I know my computer is good and we do some stuff and then it becomes obvious that their computer or software install is buggered.
When we get that fixed then things go much better.
