I use Basecamp on Windows on a PC. Until recently everything went fine when converting a track to a route. Suddenly Basecamp just won't do it. If I try to convert a track to a route it draws the new route as a straight line from the beginning to the end of the track and gives me an error message, "There was an error calculating the route". I guess I must have downloaded some updates in the last few months but I don't know how to find out which version of Basecamp I am currently using. Any suggestions gratefully received.
The algorithm has changed. If you are attempting to do a driving route, on well known roads from the shape of a track, it attempts to preserve the track. When it can't we fail and draw a straight line. If you are not doing a driving route, or are having trouble then choose "Direct Route" as the profile, and it will do it "the old way."
We have cases in to improve this experience and there are a couple of known issues.
