corrupted time data

Hi

While riding the other day my edge 500 lost satellite connection for about 400meters. Everything seemed in working order from then on.
While trying to upload ride it came up with an error - corrupted time date. (bad time date). On garmin express it shows my moving time as 337:55.02.
There lies the problem. It should have been approximately 2:01.52 based on the other people I rode with on that day.
I have tried to add a file but it won't accept that either.

Is there away the moving time can be amended.

Thanks

    Hello SYKoh,

Your 1000 was having a tough time those first 4 minutes. It kept losing satellite lock and jumping coords all over the place creating 3 extra kms and then finally totally losing it and jumping the time ahead 11 months. After the jump to 2016 the data seems okay. I fixed the date and time and made the ride with 2 laps.

Lap1 is the first 4 minutes with goofy coords (shows straight lines jumping around on the map) but I kept the sensor distances and speeds so the data might be okay.

Lap2 is the rest of your ride with the date fixed and the rest of the data is exactly what the 1000 recorded.

So....here ya go. Fixed with the Fit File Repair Tool.

Thank you very much DATEZZ, very much appreciated.

Yup, can see on the map it went haywire at the beginning. First time encountered this and hope it wont happen again.

    Hello gwbaustin,

There were 2 different time jumps. The first jump was over 24 hours and the software fixed it.
The second jump was only 18 hours and the software does not automatically fix jumps less than 24 hours.
First you have to make a new file starting with the first line of the 18 hour jump so you can repair it.
Write down the total calories, you will need it to correct the final fixed file later.
Click a checkmark on the first line of the 18 hour jump.
Then click the box under Laps > Add a new lap > OK.
Up top click > Export > New box opens > Filename change "fixed" to Lap2 > bottom of new box click "Sessions/Laps" tab > select laps > Lap 2 > OK.
Now you have saved a new file named Lap2 that you can repair.
Now you have to delete lap2 from the original file you have open. You should still have a checkmark on the first line of the 18 hour jump.
Go down bottom right to "quick select" and click "from here" and wait for everything to get checked down to the end. Go up top and click box under "Delete".
Go up top > Export > New box opens > Filename change "fixed" to Lap1 > OK.
Now you have saved a new file named Lap1 that does not need repair. Write down the date and time of the last line in Lap1 PLUS 1 second.
That is the new starting time for correcting Lap2.
Go up top > Import > select lap2 > Advanced Repair > Change All Timestamps > New Values box enter date and time you wrote down > OK.
Scroll thru the file to make sure there are no more jumps.
Go up top > Export > software automatically adds "fixed" after Lap2 > OK. This new lap2-fixed can now be added to lap1.
    Up top > Import > lap1.
Up top > Import > lap2-fixed > Import Options > check Append Mode > click Append Mode Options > "Append to last session" and "Use original timestamps" should already be checked > OK.
Up top > Sessions & Laps > bottom part click Create Overall Lap > type in calories you wrote down > Recalculate.
Up top > Devices,File Info > correct calories if necessary.
Up top > Export > correct Filename to the original file date and time - fixed > OK.
Open Garmin Connect and manually import that fixed file to make sure everything is okay.

Here is what I get https://www.dropbox.com/s/qr2mv38pb6cw5b1/2016-04-24-10-17-52-fixed.fit?dl=0

    Hello Gwyn,

For some reason your 225 jumped the date ahead to July and buggered the file.
Here ya go. Fixed with the Fit File Repair Tool.
