Hi

While riding the other day my edge 500 lost satellite connection for about 400meters. Everything seemed in working order from then on.
While trying to upload ride it came up with an error - corrupted time date. (bad time date). On garmin express it shows my moving time as 337:55.02.
There lies the problem. It should have been approximately 2:01.52 based on the other people I rode with on that day.
I have tried to add a file but it won't accept that either.

Is there away the moving time can be amended.

You could open the GPX in a text editor and modify the bad time data.

Or, perhaps, the Basecamp programmers can add code to work around bad data created by their own GPS devices.....

If you can upload the current.gpx file here, then someone can probably help fix it.

Attach the affected .fit file in a reply to this message. It is normally an easy fix to sort out corrupt timestamps using the Fit File Repair Tool.

GPSBabel, available from here (http://www.gpsbabel.org/) should be able to strip out the time codes and replace them.

hi Nick,

It looks like your Edge500 lost GPS lock for a few secs 34km into your ride and when it reacquired the lock it jumped you into 2021! An easy fix for the Fit File Repair Tool :cool:

Anyways, give this file a try.

I also just had a corrupted time data file. Been using my Garmins for YEARS and this is the first time. Tried to fix it but I just can't get it right... Hopefully one of you pros can help me out. Thank you!

It looks like your Edge500 lost GPS lock for a few secs 12.1miles into your ride and when it reacquired the lock it jumped you into 2029! An easy fix for the Fit File Repair Tool.

Give this file a try.

Hello Greetz,

Yes your file can be fixed.
When you hit reply then go to bottom of window and click "Go Advanced".
In new window scroll down and click "Manage Attachments.
Choose a file > Upload > Close Window >
Click "Preview Post" to make sure the message and attachment are okay then click "Submit Reply".
