Changing routing in a trip

I decided to try and use the Trip function in Basecamp. I want to go from Albuquerque to Key West and drive (actually ride) 10 hours a day. I assuned that a Trip would give me stop points and I could search for lodging on Google before leaving and maybe make reservations in advance. However Basecamp routed me through Dallas and I want to go through El Paso and San Antonio. I could not find a way to force the route through those cities instead of Dallas. I admit I am not an experienced Basecamp user and tried to use Mapsource methods to change the route.. Can someone tell me a way to get the route to change?

There are a couple of things you can do. First off, the 10 hour max ride time is an estimate. What the application will do is get you to about that point, and basically stop you in the middle of the road, but you will be able to see about where it is you are after 10 hours of driving. You would then have to search for lodging in and around that area.

Remember that BaseCamp will try to calculate faster or shorter routes. If you want something special like going an alternate route that you know will take longer but this is a vacation drive, what you can do is add El Paso as a destination city, and then San Antonio. BaseCamp will then route you through those cities. You can also edit the routes directly and add shaping points that will force the routing on that section of I-10. (I do that drive frequently myself in that part of Texas).

If you have other questions feel free to post here. I'd be more then happy to walk you through some steps.
