Nuvi 1690 Stalls While Importing Transferred Route
Former Member
I recently created a route, although not extremely long, it does have approximately 75 points on it. I've successfully transferred the route from Basecamp to my Nuvi 1690, but when I go to import the route from the 'MyData' folder on my gps, the import stalls while saying it is "calculating." I've tried multiple times and also changing the route, but it stalls at 3% each time. Any ideas?
Difficult to say what could be wrong. Is the map on your nuvi the same as in Basecamp where you plotted the route? Is there some avoidance setting in your nuvi that makes calculating the route impossible? Do any routes import successfully, or is the problem limited to this one?
How long is 'not extremely long'? The key is how complicated the route is ... and with 75 points that to me signifies quite a long and complicated route.
Looks like you're drawing a track rather than a route, and a nuvi cannot read a track. I suspect that particular map or that part of it isn't routeable, which will be what's causing the nuvi to hang as it cannot calculate the route.
If you are using the route tool in BC it seems to be in Direct activity mode which suggests the map isn't routeable, so your nuvi will be trying to use it's basemap, and failing. Is there an off road setting on your nuvi for routing? That might help.
Should do ... but as I don't have your model I'm not sure. The problem will be is that it then won't calculate the on road route. You will need to split the route into an on road section then an off road and load them as separate routes.
