I just loaded a route from basecamp to my 2597. I noticed that Junction View isn't working with it. Anyone else noticed that problem? I'm taking a long trip involving a lot of interstates so I'd really like it to work. Do you guys have any suggestions concerning this? Thanks for your help.
Well I haven't seen this, junction view is junction view so I can't understand why a BC route would somehow inhibit it. I guess you're certain there are junction views along that route normally?
Thank You for your response. Yes, there are junction views on that route when I create a route within the Garmin device. Quite a few of them actually. Just not on the BaseCamp route I created. Unfortunately, I need BaseCamp to create the route exactly the way I want it. Garmin creates a route I don't want to use. Hopefully others can chime in at some point and let me know if they've had a similar problem. Could it be a bug with the latest version that just came out? Maybe I should try an older version to see what happens? Just throwing ideas out there. Thanks.
I actually did some recalculating through it and the Junction View did pop up again. Unfortunately, it ruined what I created in basecamp though, so I guess I can't win here. I guess I'll have to figure out a way to make a route in basecamp and export it to Garmin without having to recalculate anything to get Junction View to work. It's too bad that Garmin doesn't let you do more customizing with the routes on the units. Even if I could just create a route in the unit and then just block some of the turns, so it recalculates around them, that might be good enough. From what I've seen, it doesn't let you do that. Hopefully, I figure something out before Sunday when I leave for my trip.
Well the Basecamp team may be able to help with this. I know that with routes I send to my 2508 junction views show.
A thought ... is the map on Basecamp the same as the one on your GPS? As junction view files are linked to the map then if they were different (mine are the same) that may be the issue
You could always add some additional waypoints so the nuvi goes the way you want, either do it in Basecamp or on the GPS itself.
I sent them an email last night so I'll see what they have to say about it. As far as I can see, it's the same maps. It lists the latest Garmin Maps that I have on my Garmin. It ends up working if I recalculate anything on the route but then it changes the route to something I don't want. I'll keep tinkering with it and hopefully they can figure something out for me to try. I'm new to all of this so it could be something I'm doing as well. Thanks.
