We have found a work around for the display issues that have been reported on Windows 8.1.
For now, you can follow the steps below:
- Find BaseCamp.exe on your machine. On my machine it is at the following location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\BaseCamp\
- Right Click BaseCamp.exe
- Choose "Properties" from the context menu
- Click the tab above that says "Compatibility"
- A dialog appears
- Check the option that reads "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"
- Click "Apply"
- Click "OK"
Run BaseCamp and the experience should improve.
This is not a perfect solution and not all problems will go away from doing the above steps. We are still working a final solution hopefully to get in our next release but this should hopefully get most users by for the time being until that release occurs.
