Need an option to select an activity name for each track

The activity file is very nice and useful, but I walk, ride a bike, ride in a car and other needs for each track recorded. PLEASE include the same list for each track (be able to assign that activity name such as walking to each recorded track.

Example

July 9 and 10 AM track recorded used a bicycle (need to assign this track to bicycle)

July 9 and 11 AM track recorded and was walking this time - need to assign walking to this track

I have to use excel because this option is not available and would like to use basecamp only.

Sorry but I don't follow what you're after. A track is a track. Doesn't matter what you assign to it, it's a track. Or am I misunderstanding what you're asking?

Activity Profiles exist primarily for automated routing. They provide criteria to help the routing algorithm find an appropriate route using routable features. The idea of having multiple track icons is interesting (I assume this is what you mean), but the icons are so small it might cause confusion between routes/tracks. Or am I also missing your intent?

If I understood your request, alternative solutions for now would be to add "Bike", "Walk", "Hike" or even a single letter to the beginning of the track name. Better might be to create Folders and Lists to organize your data. For example, a main Folder "Tracks" with sub-Folders for Activities containing Lists of tracks.

A new feature to record tracks and assign it to an activity

:DThanks for the replies - I will try to clarify what I am asking:

I use Garmin eTrex 10 and I do neighborhood prayer trips.

If it's raining out, I drive my ride and would like to record it as an activity type: Vehicle. If it's nice out, I might walk my journey (route) or use a bicycle. The activity profiles are great for what they are intended to do but it would be so great to be able to assign the recorded tracks made during that trip to the mode used such as bicycle, vehicle or maybe walking. It could draw from the same DB list used for the activity profiles. I do use folders for each, but being able to assign a journey mode to the recorded tracks would be so helpful. I use base camp but because it doesn't allow searching by an activity mode I have to also enter data into a spread sheet. I hope this makes sense now.
