route problem on Zumo 660

This damn program is going to drive me nuts!!!!

I've been using BC 4.3.3 and now 4.3.4 with maps City Navigator North America NT 2014.4. The Zumo 660 shows the same map version. For the past 3 days now when I copy a route to the unit I get the following message.

"Route(s) sent to zumo 660 (Unit ID xxxxx) (G) were recalculated because they were created on a map that is not installed on that device".

The first time this happened I ignored the message and started using the route, I found almost right away that the route didn't match up with the roads. I had to do a recalculate to get the route corrected.

Note, this problem started with BC 4.3.3 (but only the last couple of days) and I installed 4.3.4 yesterday in hopes of fixing the problem. No joy.

Help!!!

Just out of interest, is the map on your zumo installed on the device or on a card ... I've seen that message if the map is on the card rather than the device.

Has the map on your device been indexed by Basecamp and does it then show in the Maps list so you have 2 copies of the map showing there? If not that too would explain it.

I had similar issue as well until I found a setting that affected this: Transferring routes had checkbox 'Always match the route to the map on my device when transferring' checked.

Once I cleared this, it started working as before with MapSource. This must be the must idiotic setting ever created!

Not really. Some users might not want that to happen.

In any case, it seems the OP has the same maps, so presumably wants the route to match the map on his device :confused:

I've never done an "index" before. How do you do it and why would this problem just show up all of a sudden?

You don't but BC does. When you first plug in your device BC will do it automatically, you'll see a green bar moving slowly across underneath the map which will be shown under the device in the top left hand pane. Once it finishes the indexing is complete and only then can BC use the map.

I find BC sometimes needs to do this if it's been updated.

I have also same maps on both device and computer and same thing happens if I plan the route using device map on BC. But clearing this one checkbox solves all my issues on this kind of routing mismatch.

That's weird isn't it :confused: You'd have thought that that would have no effect unless the maps were different. Maybe the Basecamp team could look at this, is it possible that box is working the wrong way around?
