Issues With 4.3.3 AND 4.3.4

Prior to updating to 4.3.3, Basecamp worked fine. Now it doesn't. It went wrong when the install of 4.3.3 didn't work. Basecamp wouldn't start up, so I uninstaled it, then had to delete the program directory, then installed, and it worked. I updated to 4.3.4, and it started up.

However, now I have a number of issues.

1) When I convert an imported track to a route, I don't get the option to select how many waypoints to use.
2) The route is created, with just two points, the start and end points. However, Bascamp can't calculate the route. I get a message stating there was an error calculating the route.
3) If I create a new route, and use the start and end points from the route above, the route is calculated, but is not the route I want.
4) When right clicking on a route, there was an advanced sub-menu that provided some useful functionality, but this has now dissapeared.

Are earleir fully functional versions of Basecamp available for download please?
  • 1) Working for me. Box still pops up asking for number of via points
    2) Not applicable as it works
    3) Well that has always been the case. Basecamp will calculate a route depending on the map chosen, and the routing and avoidance settings. It may not be what you want, so you have to edit it when necessary.
    4) I can't recall exactly what was in the Advanced menu, but I believe it's all still available in the list when you right click. What do you think is missing?
  • An update. I have got hold a 4.3.1, and I have the same problem. So, presumably its not the version, but it must be a problem with the installation.

How do I get this functionality back? Is there an option that has to be set somewhere?

    3) This is why I want to base a route on the track. The point is that the route conversion is creating a route that can't be calculated, but using exactly the same points a new route can be calculated, so the conversion is doing something rather starnge,
    4) I can't recall, things like joing tracks I think, but I don't have an advanced menu at all, so something is obviously wrong.
  • I have uninstalled, installed 4.2.5, and everything works fine. Installing 4.3.4 messes it up, so there is either a problem that has been introduced after 4.2.5, or the installation process is not working properly.
  • 4) I can't recall, things like joing tracks I think, but I don't have an advanced menu at all, so something is obviously wrong.

There is no advanced menu now (it was confusing anyway as folks hardly ever found it). Just select tracks to join, right click and select 'Join selected tracks'. Anything that was under Advanced now has its own entry in the list.
  • Track to route: there is a work around in 4.3.4. Select as routing profile "Direct routing" first before you want to convert. You will get the pop up screen asking you how many shaping points you want.
This also resolves KEFFS' point 2.
  • Ah, good catch :)

I have Direct routing set as my default which explains why I'm getting different results, selecting other profiles gives the same result as KEFFS is getting when converting track to route.

Found it, it's now under Edit :)
