How do I read Maximum Speed from BaseCamp

I have downloaded my trip data from my Garmin Montana 650 into BaseCamp.
All data seems to transfer from the device to BaseCamp.
However I can't find Max Speed in BaseCamp.
In the Trip Computer of the Garmin Montana 650, there is a field for Max Speed.
How do I find Max Speed in BaseCamp?

Update 6/22/2014:
I found Max Speed in BaseCamp under "Current Track".
When I did my rowing exercise, the Garmin Montana 650 Trip Computer displayed Max Speed 5.9 mph.
The maximum speed displayed in BaseCamp was 7.

I conclude that BaseCamp is unreliable for Max Speed.
If I could ever row my Thames Rowing Skiff at 7 mph, I need to enter Olympic Rowing!
  • It is not BaseCamp. BaseCamp just calculates speeds and distances from the locations saved in the track file by the device. The trip computer on the device updates every second, while your track interval is set to auto from the looks of it and only saves some of the points. If you wish the trip computer to agree with the track, set the track interval to 1 second time.

The trip computer's distance was most likely longer than the track as well (the track distance will be more accurate in your case). As for the max speed, it probably is a single (or a few) point(s) that contains more errors than the neighboring points. This can happen as satellites move into and out of the receiver's field of view or the view is interrupted by buildings/trees or multi-path errors. Just look for the points with unreasonable speeds or locations on the map and delete them from the track.
