"BaseCamp.exe - Entry Point Not Found"

I had the "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly" after V4.3.3 update this morning. I have since uninstalled and re-installed several times.

Current error is: "BaseCamp.exe Entry Point Not Found. The procedure entry point ?erase@exifdata@exiv2...' and it goes on for a while to finish '...could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\program files (x86)\garmin\basecamp\basecamp.exe''

Note: if I uninstall BaseCamp and maps and only reinstall V4.3.3 from a download then BaseCamp will run with my old (c2006) Mapsource Australia maps. I then install City Navigator Europe NT maps from DVD and they update automatically from Garmin, with no reported errors. However everything then stops working with the above error when I start Basecamp.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well Garmin can't test every Basecamp version on every possible PC set up. In most cases it works fine, never caused me an issue in many many years. It'll probably be a problem somewhere within your PC. Hopefully an uninstall/reinstall will resolve it.

I think "return to vendor" is the solution as I logged a call more than a week ago. Garmin make great hardware but their but their software management and support is very poor.

Version 4.3.4 and a new map download has fixed this problem and I'm operational again. Thanks Garmin.
