How to delete/reset corrupted (autoupdate) install file

Hi. 4.3.3 downloaded and popped up to install. Diligently said yes. Popped up a window saying "corrupt file" and BC promptly ends. Every BC restart, process repeats unless I say "later".

Any way to purge the downloaded file and just say start the autoupdate over, without deleting and reinstalling the whole enchilada?

If I remove BC and re-install, what is likely lost and need be redone?

Thanks much.
  • You didn't state which OS you use,

but check your C:\Windows\Temp directory and C:\Users\<User Name>\Appdata\Local\Temp if you see any Basecamp install files.

If you want to remove and re-install Basecamp make sure to Make a Backup, this can be done under - File - Backup, this will make sure that your routes, Waypoints etc etc will be safe.
  • oops. thanks. Win7

Did a system cleanup, then manually went into the /Temp dirs and whacked anything created around that time, plus a bit more.

Went back and took another look at your prompting and remembered that directories sort to the bottom, d'oh Whacked them (Garmin Software Updates, Basecamp, and a gobbledegook one) , and life is good.

    Thanks much. Case closed.
