About 2 months ago, I bought the 390LM as an upgrade to my Zumo 220. I used Mapsource and BaseCamp to create routes for the group rides that I lead. I also share those gdb files with another rider.
When I had the Zumo 220, I would load the maps via BaseCamp and be on my way. I would navigate to the start of the route with no problems. If I made a wrong turn or needed make a quick detour, the route would be picked back up with no problem.
When I connected the 390LM to BaseCamp for the first time, I had to update the software. I did with no issues. I then loaded the maps to the new GPS. Now when I start a route on the GPS. it says "Select Next Destination". That's fine. I select the first point and go. But if I am in the middle of a route and I need to reload the map for whatever reason, it says the same thing, "Select Next Destination". This will occur if I'm at the start of the route, directly on a way point, or in between way points. If I skip a waypoint, it will continue to try to route me to that waypoint instead of routing me to the next one or just pickup the route again. I do not know if this is a function of the new BaseCamp Trip Planner functionality or the GPS. Before I used to just create a route and load it. Either way, it is causing problems for me an my group rides if I deviate from the route or need to reload the on the GPS.
