BaseCamp 4.3.3 is Now Available

To show the select button: right click anywhere in the toolbar, then check the box next to Show Select Tool.

Basecamp 4.3.3 Fails to load

Installed update and cannot start Basecamp on Windows 8
Error R6034 "an application made and attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly."

BaseCamp is 4.3.3 now available and can be downloaded here:

This release does not support XP.

Installation of this version will overwrite your previous BaseCamp installation.

Here are the changes made in this version:

• Fixed issue when importing a file and errors or warnings are encountered in the file
  
• Fixed issue with adding or editing an activity profile
  
• Fixed issue with changing the cover photo of an Adventure
  
• Fixed issue when joining tracks

We are working on this issue. For now go and uninstall BaseCamp manually and then reinstall BaseCamp from scratch. Back up your data before you do this, but it should find your data and be ready to go after that. This is the work-around for now.

Yes that worked for wrt getting rid of the file.dll error. However, a new error occurred: missing Microsoft.NET framework file or reinstall .... Wasted a lot of time to resolve the issue by using the Microsoft repair tool, uninstalling and reinstalling Basecamp, etc. The problem is not with Microsoft; it's with the new version of Garmin's basecamp. I deleted Basecamp, and will not be using it again until Garmin fixes the problem

So a Microsoft product is either missing or corrupted or not up to date and that's Basecamp's fault?

I had no issue installing BC ... so you're shooting the wrong horse :)

Agreed, Very complicated for application developers in that with changes over time made in the C redistributeable, the only way an application developer can assure their software will work is force installation of specific versions.. and you end up with numerous versions of the C redistributeable on your system due to different applications being tied to specific version of the redistributeable as shown in the above jpg..

As I understand it, Microsoft's latest policy to developers was to try to get away from this and Basecamp 4.3.3. apparently was trying to follow new direction of testing for a compatible version of the redistributeable and not just forcing the continued installation of a specific version known to work, and cluttering up your system.

UPDATE: Basecamp 4.3.4 released yesterday has resolved this problem
