Message when sending route to Montana

Basecamp 4.3.2 with CNNT 2015.1 installed and selected. Win 7 Pro/64 bit.
Montana 600 with 5.90 firmware and CNNT 2015.1 installed and selected.

Whenever I try to send an existing route from BC to the Montana I get a message at the top of the screen stating that the" route was recalculated because they were created on a map not installed on the device". I then manually recalculate the route and send again but receive the same message. If I turn off the Device Options "Always match routes to the map...." I don't get the message but something is definately wrong with the route. The Montana will complain that the are no routable roads. I can create a working route on the Montana with no problems.

Any ideas?
  • OK, but... Why does BC 4.3.5, when you right click on the device "Internal Storage" and select "Install maps on Montana 600....", bring up the MapInstall application to do the map installation. My ever helpful Garmin Express 3.2.17.0 still insists that the maps on my Montana are up to date and refuses to reinstall them even after I manually deleted the maps from the device. This is after deleting the device from GE, restarting GE and re-finding the device again GE still insists my now empty Montana has 2015.10 already installed. So I have no choice but to install via BC which uses MapInstall. I sense a Catch 22 happening here.

Also, if I turn off the warning and continue with the transfer the device will complain about the route saying something like "there are no roads on the route" when I start navigating. I can create the same route on the device using the same waypoints with no problem.

Same here. Finally gave up- converted routes to tracks and colored them red. They do follow the roads. There are no straight line fingers taking off at 90 degrees. Some friends recommend direct routing in both BC and on Montana for use. That helped on our Nevada trip. Another IT rider stuck with tracks. Should work either way- common sense is creeping in.
