Position column blank in BaseCamp for WGS 84

I usually have my eTrex Legend Units>Position Format set to 'British Grid' and Map Datum 'Ord Srvy GB'. Viewing any .gpx file copied from its Data Card to my PC, the coordinates are present in the 'Position' column when viewed in BaseCamp.
I holidayed in Greece recently. I reset the Units>Position Format (I cannot remember which I chose: decimal degrees, degrees/decimal minutes or degrees/minutes/decimal seconds, but it was one of those) and Map Datum 'WGS 84'. Now, when I view the Data Card's tracklog copied to the PC, the 'Position' column is empty. The same applies to the waypoints, although I can view their locations on the device, itself. Can anyone tell me why?

Is this with 4.3.1 or 4.2.5? Also would you be willing to send some of your data so that we may attempt to reproduce? You can e-mail us at [email protected]. Your data will be kept private.

I thank you for your reply. My BaseCamp version is 4.2.5. I have not been prompted to update to 4.3.1 to my knowledge.
I should be pleased to send a sample of data but ask that you describe fully what I must do to send it by email.
By the way, I can see the coordinates exist in the .gpx file using GPS Visualizer.

If you look at the thread at the top of this message board regarding BaseCamp 4.3.1, installation instructions are available. You can download the installer from the link in my signature.

To send the data, if you go to the file menu there is a way to export your data. It will produce a .gpx file. You can e-mail that file as an attachment to [email protected]. It will open a case and someone will assign me the case (or another member of our team) to look into the issue for you.

By the way, where did you get these coordinates? Are they generated from BaseCamp or did you perhaps copy and paste them from Google? There was a known issue in 4.2.5 where the Google coordinate format was not supported by BaseCamp, but we fixed this in 4.3.1.

Let me know if you have any more questions. Happy to help.

If you can see the coordinates, nothing seems to be lost.
Try changing the settings in BaseCamp.
Edit=>Options=>Measurement=>Grid.
I noticed with Beijing 1954 the Position colomn is blank, with British National grid I get OT followed by two groups of 5 numbers.

I thank you for your constructive reply. That is the answer, of course! Clearly, I had forgotten those necessary steps (senior moment!), because as soon as I carried them out I remembered. One slight difference between my eTrex Legend and BaseCamp for anyone in a similar situation: the Lat/Lon options appear at the top of the list in the Legend, whereas they are in alphabetical order in BaseCamp.
I thank you again.
• Devices and BaseCamp always store locations in decimal degrees and WGS84 datum. Gpx files require that lat/lon be in this format as well. Most National grids only cover a limited area. When outside of the grid area, the position column will be blank in BaseCamp and it should be blank on the device as well. With user defined grids, the position will go blank if either the Northing or Easting goes negative.
