Is it safe to delete saved places on the GPS - if they're part of a trip?

I created 10 Trips in Basecamp, with a combined total of 180 Waypoints and transferred them to the GPS (Nuvi 2595)

In the process, my Saved Places on the GPS now has all those 180 waypoints.

That makes it nearly impossible to search for other specific saved places if for example I have a saved place unrelated to those trips.

So here's the question......

Can I delete ALL those waypoints that were created in reference to the Trips, without interfering with the trips or will that also delete the trips?

You should be able to without issue, I haven't had any problems doing so on my 2508.

Just experiment with one trip, that should show you that it's OK.

On my GPSmap 62s, those waypoints may be deleted without issue. Actually, I'd prefer to have an option in Basecamp to prevent sending of the waypoints with the route.

I find that the waypoints aren't sent provided I place the route in an empty list with only the route in it. Send it from there and no waypoints get sent.
