Categories not coming over to Zumo from BaseCamp

From BC 4.3.1 on Windows 7 machine.

Using "send to" to send a List to a Zumo...the Favorites on the Zumo are not grouped into Categories. I have looked at temp.gpx and the categories are not listed as attributes of the waypoints that it writes to that file.

I checked the new device transfer options and could not find anything in there that would seem to address this.

Is this a bug or a new feature that I am not using correctly?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Well, in 4.3.1 the categories and the way we handle them are new. They are independent of lists and folders now. Categories only really works now for waypoints. Are you expecting routes or tracks to be separated by category as well?

I can't change any setting in the Menu/ Edit/ Options/ Device Transfer. All settings are greyed out (inactive). No matter if a device is connect or not, tried with a Zumo550 and Zumo590. I have this on my two portables, W7 64bit prof. and W7 32bit prof.
    What's wrong??

Hmm. I am not sure why these would be greyed out. I just ran 4.3.1 and mine all work for the devices I had connected either now or in the past. Can you send me a screen shot? Or post one here?

4.5.1, Yes! My system is up to date

Well we are right now having some known issues with the installer. Can you please try to uninstall, follow the directions about complete removal earlier in this thread, and try to reinstal from scratch?
  • Been fighting with the " MSVCR90.dll is missing" problem for many hours now. Seems to reproducibly occur with both the CB 4.3.1 update, and the latest City Nav. N. America NT2015.1 Map Product update. Have tried un-installing old, and re-installing the new, but no fix. Only 'fix' so far is to Restore back a few days, before these updates were added. Best option I see now is to go without these updates, and hope nothing tries to push through automatically. Help will be appreciated. Thanks

Same issue here, reinstalling did not help, also deleting the basecamp folder AFTER removing, then reinstalling again did not help.
With or without my zumo 350 device connected does not make any difference.

(in the beta verzion it worked fine)

    Thanks for the reply.

One of the guys on Zumoforums figured out the new Category handling, and I have verified that it is working correctly for me.

No, I wasn't expecting anything but Favorites to be grouped, but I was expecting it to be using the automatic mapping from BC List to Zumo Category that has been the norm. That of course led to the problem of Category population explosion on the Zumo. I was scrubbing the temp.gpx after each "send to" to eliminate the extra Categories to work around the problem.

This looks to be much cleaner. Thanks for addressing that, and thanks again for the quick response.

My pleasure. I think that the categories system that we have provided is much better then what we have tried to do in the past. I hope this works for you.
