Validated on second computer that didn't have the basecamp uninstall option that you need to delete the old basecamp files then you can install the new version. Shame on you Garmin. We call that slop.
  • I have updated getting an error on launch off basecamp
R6034 - An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly

Win 7, 64 bit is my O/S - Messed up on 2 different PC's, please help!

Same here, but I am on Win8 x64.

    Typical Garmin GARBAGE.

    Now I have no BaseCramp.

I know Garmin recently hired a 'Software Quality Engineer' - Hope they get to work soon.

I may just give up on BaseCamp and Garmin alltogether, with the error ridden firmware for the Oregon 6xx and Monterra, and now BaseCramp is useless as well.

Well I'm not sure Garmin can be held responsible for problems on your PC. There'll be a reason why it didn't have the uninstall option, which it should have done, and sometimes we have to take responsibility for problems within our own PCs :)

Basecamp installed on my 2 PCs without issue. Perhaps you have some issues with your PC?

    Try uninstalling then reinstalling Basecamp.

    Nice try fanboy.

Basecramp worked fine just minutes before the update, and now will not start, giving the error posted above, and all that has transpired in between is Garmins update ran.
  • Rather than throw insults have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling? Seems to resolve the issues for others.

Seems all the 'young talent' at Garmin (and elsewhere) have either forgotten or have no concept of the golden age of computers, before widely available internet service, when software had to be debugged completely before release, because there was no method of updating or patching the final retail product. Back then, software engineers were actually worth something, because they produced code with real value, quality, and functionality.

It would appear Garmin have been infected with the rampant and much too common "Half-@ss is good enough" virus.

Clearly I will have to completely remove the BaseCramp software, and reinstall fresh again. I wonder how much of my database will survive?
  • Your database shouldn't be affected, but again recomendation is that you back it up first.
  • BOGUSKY

To fix the missing MSCVR90.dll error, uninstall BaseCamp then reinstall the latest version.

Working with win7 64bit that solved the problem for me..
