We will be doing a maintenance release to address the installer issue.

For now, our upgrade process from the auto-update server has been stopped for now. If you download the installer, uninstall manually 4.2.5 and install 4.3.1 manually you should have no trouble. That said, your databases should remain intact.

Let me know if there are continued issues.

As a bit of information, it appears (without confirmation) that the installer team, in an attempt to increase the performance of installers, instituted a version check of DLL's that come with BaseCamp. Because we updated to the new C-Runtime, and because the versions of these DLL's have not changed, we are running into a miss-match of run time libraries. In the past, it appeared (again without confirmation) that this was not an issue and version strings weren't taken into consideration when installing over top an older version. They just blew away the DLL's and replaced them with the ones in the installer. This is why we are running into this issue. We are working on this VERY quickly and we should hopefully have an update in the next day or two. Rough estimate.

I am sorry for the trouble that this has caused but all should be able to get up and running quickly by following the steps above.

By the way, ALWAYS back up your data before doing the above process.
  • No issues with update or with 2015 map...running windows 8.1

BUT, the program doesn't remember the placement and window size from when it was closed. After manually sizing it, it can expand by itself as your working as if you had maximized the window causing some of the window to be off the screen, causing you to reposition and resize again...it appears to be stable after that it does that.
  • BaseCamp 4.3.1 is missing the ability to set the size of the RV under the activity profile.

Does your device have this ability? If so I will open a case for this.
  • I have the RV 760 which uses the activity profile. Basecamp 4.2.5 had the ability to set the RV size. If the activity profile in BC doesn't match the device the routes may get calculated differently
  • Help doesn't load

It depends on your PC, installed on both mine without any messing about :)

I tried to remove the folder C:Program Files(x86)/Garmin/Basecamp two time and no success.
    Still get: http://static.garmincdn.com/basecamp/4_3/en/Default.htm
    with the 404 error

I have the places for all the RV settings, everything copied from the last version

I haven't been able to reproduce this.... I will check on my Windows 8 machine at home. Did it just not remember your 4.2.5 placement or does it never remember your placements and sizes from run-to-run of 4.3?

After uninstalling and reinstalling the RV settings are there. Still doesn't go to the right web page for help
