I have created a case for the timezone map. Not much as changed between those two versions.

I'm glad you know that :p The release notes at the page SUSSAMB linked to are totally useless.

    Updated timezone database.

Yeah, I saw that. Use of version 11 should not impede BaseCamp. However we do of course need to get the new version in. The tech lead for BaseCamp mentioned that not much of any significance for use with BaseCamp has changed. It matters more for devices.

Out of curiosity (I'm not a cat and will not die) what does BC use gmaptz.img for?
  • Try uninstalling it and re-installing it. It runs funs then. Nothing wrong with your system.
This worked for me as well on my Vista Home Premium 64. I am happy to see that Garmin decided to support Vista on 4.3.1. I was worried from the earlier discussions that we Vista users were out of luck. Thanks Garmin for including us in this version.

I have updated getting an error on launch off basecamp
R6034 - An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly

Win 7, 64 bit is my O/S - Messed up on 2 different PC's, please help!
  • Looks like the dog ate the Installer Teams homework..:(

After having the problem reported above regarding the MSVCR90.dll error, which on my desktop, uninstalling the old 4.2.5 and then reinstalling 4.3.1 fixed the dll error problem..

On my Laptop also running Windows Seven 64 bit, I uninstalled 4.2.5 per the above experience, and then installed 4.3.1 AND get the following error on that system.

    "Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\BaseCamp\BaseCamp.exe

    R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Usually when there is a runtime error after an installation a reboot is needed to make it work. But in this case that don't fix it...

The BaseCamp 4.3.0.3 beta code still runs fine on this machine....

Both the Desktop machine which doesn't have this error, and the laptop machine are Windows Seven 64bit OS and are up to date per Windows update.
  • Installed just fine. However upon startup all preferences were at the defaults (4.2.5 was still installed beforehand) so I copied the user.config file from 4.3.0.3 Beta and all was well :)

Also the package includes an old (v11.02) gmaptz.img file. The latest is v14.0.

Snap. It would be good if there wasn't a need to manually copy the user.config file though, that really should happen automatically as part of the update/install process.

It is a timezone map. It invisibly overlays over a map that you are using for timezone purposes.
