Search issue with 4.3.0.3

It has to do with map data. It isn't the search algorithm. If you feel it is in error send us an error report through the maps menu.

Could you expand on that a bit? I'm trying to understand how this works. If the map data had an entry of "1014 Wade Hampton Blvd, Greenville, SC, USA" why would a request to the search algorithm for "1014 Wade Hampton Blvd,Greenville, SC" not return a match? In regx an exact match is allowed :)

Sadly it doesn't do regex. And we use the same matching as that of the devices. Does it return on your device? It does a series of string comparisons. What map are you using? I will try to recreate your issue.

Using CNNA 2015.10 and Basecamp 4.3.1

Not to bring up a recurring subject but Mapsource can locate "1014 Wade Hampton Blvd, Greenville, SC" without trouble.

A Montana 600 with 5.90 firmware can also locate "1014 Wade Hampton Blvd, Greenville, SC" without monkying around with the search parameters.

Is this with 4.3.0.3 as in the thread title or 4.3.1 as in your post above or both?

Either way I do agree that the search function within Basecamp still isn't great and I'm not sure why. I can make it work for addresses in the UK where we use postcodes a lot, but it's still sometimes a struggle. I should get an address using just a postcode and house number, but Basecamp insists on a street. My nuvi though will quite happily identify the street from the postcode and then just requires a number. Maybe I'm doing something wrong in Basecamp :confused:

Oops! I was using 4.3.0.3 when I ran into this but have since updated to 4.3.1 with no change in behaviour. I guess I should have just left the revision out of the thread title.
