I'm having a problem with Base camp 4.2.4 and Windows 8.1 box. In both cases I can send to device and it shows copying the the device and or the media card. When release from computer and select my data have Set Home Location, Delete Favorites(s), clear Trip log. In delete Favorites is the uploaded route is there, but no way to read from file to load it as a route. I removed the 16 G Micro card and tried to repeat and gives the same sent response as when Micro Card way in the Nuvi 550, but same results. Is te NUVI 550 just too old? I'm needing this for a ADA tour de cure ride on Saturday so I'm in a pickle. Any one? Thanks

Are you sure you actually CREATED the route from the waypoints before sending the data over? I made that mistake last week and had a similar result. Just one thing to check in addition to SUSSAMB's suggestion which is probably the same thing.
Routes shouldn't appear in Favourites. If it is it sounds like you've sent waypoints and not a route. If you've sent a route using Basecamp it would appear under Import Routes. If you manually copied the gpx file did you place it in the GPX folder?
I'm still confused by your comment that routes appear in Favourites, that is not where you would ever find routes so if 'routes' are there then they are waypoints and not routes. Try this if you have a sd card or usb stick. Send the route to that, then manually copy the gpx file to the GPX folder on your GPS. Now does it show under 'Import routes'?
