Before using this release, back up your data.

Please post any bugs you may find here. This release is to assist us in testing with a wider user base and wider set of devices. Bugs may be present, and any feedback is welcomed.
  • Previously reported an error about the find function. This only occurs when the Garmin Global base Map is selected. When I choose 2014.4 the find function works as it should be.

Is it possible to de-activate those functions which can not be used in the Global Base Map when no card product is chosen and to display a pop-up indicating that that feature is not available in the base map and that the user has to choose (or buy when not available) a map product to work with? Otherwise an error occurs which put you on the wrong foot.
  • That file is the configuration dynamic linked lib for your ati video driver, try to update it, if you don't have Ati, this can be your problem.

Thanks, that was it ... resolved it by uninstalling the grahics card then reinstalling and downloading drivers direct from Intel rather than the ones supplied by Toshiba, Basecamp Beta now running on my laptop :)

Routing is not ok, several times in longer routes on minor roads the calculation of the route is not done between some points. It results in an straight line between 2 points, but these points are not via-points or shaping points.

I can correct this by removing the shaping-point and place it elsewhere, I tried to move the point more to above in the road, did not matter, when I made sure the shaping-point is on another road the line will route along the road.
  • Just tried out
"Added ability to remove shaping points from routes in the route dialog".

I assume, that this function should help users with devices that does not accept shaping points (e.g. Montana).

This works fine and the route does not recalculate automatically. Therefore, the route remains in "shaped" condition as long as no recalculation is initiated by the user or the routing profile is changed.
    Kind of a risky feature.

    Canario
  • Well that would make sense though wouldn't it? If you did recalculate you'd want it to do so, snap if you changed the routing profile?

At least the option is now there should you wish to use it.

Thank you for all of the feedback folks. More is always welcomed. We have opened a number of new cases based on the issues found here. Thank you again for taking the time to test for us. There are a lot of new features and there is always a chance we break something.

By the way, don't take my previous post as a "We're done! Thanks!" We need more banging on it! So please fire away!

  • The "Import Error" message should display the number of the line that it had a problem with (or the last line it processed).

And/or one can use this site. GPX files are just XML.

That might detect certain problems but not all of them (or problems that are irrelevant to BaseCamp).

OK. That site isn't actually very useful at all for this. It rejects gpx files that BaseCamp has no problems reading.
