You might have to clean that installation completely out and try again. Occasionally there are installation issues that require some registry fu.

I just loaded my standard waypoint collection to my z600, and the categories are SO much BETTER!! Thank you for implementing this. I've struggled to find positive things to say about Basecramp, but I might have to start calling it by it's given name. :) This has been my primary pain point for awhile. Now I'll have to go back and find something else to complain about.

I haven't looked recently, but can I have more than one "BP" in my collection? That was my other major issue.
Edit: Nope, still on the wish list. Along with POI category persisting in the find menu.

Happy the new category system is working so great for you! Can you elaborate though a bit more? What do you mean POI Category persisting in the find menu? Can you post a screen grab?

I could have probably been a bit more descriptive.

I frequently get to the FIND menu via right-click and "Find Nearest Places". When I do this, it always returns to "All Points of Interest" instead of the last selected (for instance, "Lodging").

    Can you attach examples?

After further investigation, I can reproduce the problem by moving route waypoints away from intersections. If the waypoint is not on an intersection then the recalculated route will not follow the road for a short distance after the waypoint, as shown in the image I attached before.

The symptoms vary a little bit when using older versions of CNAUSNZ, but the fault is still present and is not solved by recalculating the route.

It seems to be more prevalent (longer distance of straight line) when using secondary roads.

If I move the waypoint exactly on to an intersection, the problem goes away.

I don't see this problem using the same routes (duplicated database) on Basecamp 4.2.

My gut feeling, as an experienced software developer, is that the process of moving a waypoint links back in to the list of route points at the wrong place.

I installed and tried the new beta version of 4.3.01. I noticed a display problem with transparent maps. In version 4.2.5 it is displayed perfectly.
Here is one of my maps https://app.box.com/s/kshnotqkq9a2xvd9o2do

Try the map in v4.2.5 and after in the v4.3.01 you will see the difference and maybe find the problem.

    Thank you!

I don't know how quickly we can do this but I will add this as a case.

I wish the Nuvi's would support some of the older symbols, I don't like these billboard style icons much at all....way too big and obscure things on the map.
However, being able to pass those symbol to the Nuvi's, Zumo's, and Navigators would be MUCH better than the present situation where ANY icon gets turned into a heart symbol.
  • Thank you for providing the Beta. There are so much new features in sight...very much appreciated.

I have tested a little bit with the CN EU 2014.40:

    - Routing option "Curvy roads" and/or Road Type Avoidances does not seem to work at all.
    - The Montana 650 seems to recalculate routes on the worldwide basemap only.
    - The size of the Toolbar "Activity Profiles" is much to small. It shows the Icon only. The size in the current version (4.2.5) could already bear some enlargement. I would appreciate a length that is able to show at least 30 characters.

Just some quick impressions so far.

    Regards
    Canario

Can you post your steps for your first and second point?
  • Issue now resolved, see post # 63

Well I uninstalled the beta and 4.2.5, uninstalled and reinstalled .NET and still the beta won't run on my Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop. Error I'm getting is shown here:

Reinstalled Basecamp 4.2.5 and it works fine ... so something in the Beta isn't working with my laptop

If it's any help this is the report from Event Viewer:

Faulting application name: BaseCamp.exe, version: 4.3.0.1, time stamp: 0x53287da5
Faulting module name: aticfx32.dll, version: 8.17.10.1047, time stamp: 0x4cabd6fc

    Report Id: 58c98946-b0d4-11e3-a6ed-b870f4d57153

and may explain why it's crashing as there is no C:\Windows\system32\aticfx.dll file on my laptop so it seems Basecamp is trying to reference a dll file that doesn't exist?

Note there have been issues with Toshiba laptops before:
