I have a Zumo 550 that I originally used with MapSource. I now have BaseCamp and have a question regarding maps. On the MapSource software, all my maps were stored on my computer as well as my Zumo. So far, that doesn't seem to be happening with Basecamp. I have to have the Zumo attached to the computer in order to use my City Navigator map - otherwise all I can see is the Global map that comes with BaseCamp. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
If they're seen by Mapsource they should be seen in Basecamp. Have you found the Map Products drop down menu? Go to View, Toolbars, Map Products and select it. Your maps should be listed in that drop down menu.
If you installed BaseCamp on a machine that already had MapSource on it with whatever map(s) you have then BC should see them. All you have to do is select the map in the menu or toolbar dropdown list (as is done in MapSource). That said BC doesn't support old maps that require a CD to be inserted (e.g. TOPO US 3.02 from 2002). However there's a workaround for such maps.
Can I load my US TOPO v.3.00 or v.3.01 to my computer?
If you're on a new computer you can simply re-install any maps from CD/DVD.
