Garmin Basecamp won't open

I recently downloaded Basecamp on my new computer (windows 7) and it just hangs on the opening screen. I have updated the drivers and it still will not open. I had no issues on a previous computer with XP, but I can't get it on windows 7. I looked at some of the previous threads, but nothing seems to work.

Any help will be appreciated.

Have you tried uninstaling then reinstalling?

BC is a Microsoft .NET application. I'd run this tool to ensure your .NET installation is ok.

If BC was working and then stopped I'd suspect a corrupted database. Unistalling the program does NOT remove the database so a reinstall would make no difference. I'd try deleting (or moving if you want to try and recover data from it) the BC database.

The default BC database location is

C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Garmin\BaseCamp (WinXP)

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\BaseCamp (Vista, Win7, Win8)

I tried doing this and went to the Directory that you wanted me to and there is no BaseCamp at that location.

I think the folders have hidden and/or system attributes so you're probably not finding them. Make sure you're searching for hidden/system files and folders. If BC was working then there is a database.
