Creating hiking track in Basecamp

I have an Oregon 600t with GB explorer topo map loaded. I want to use this for hiking. I have tried to create a track within basecamp to load onto my device, however it only seems to see the roads and not the footpaths and so is completely useless for creating a walk. Am I doing something wrong as I can see the footpaths I want to use on the map?

Thanks for any help. BTW I have set the activity profile to hiking.

Not all features on maps are routable. I don't have the GB Explorer topo's but I'd guess that footpaths aren't routable.

Some maps don't have any routing data at all.

In BaseCamp, Tracks are drawn or you can convert Routes to Tracks. Since your hiking path in GB Explorer is not routable, you can draw the Track over the path with the Track Tool and then transfer that Track to your Oregon.

    Correct :)

Try maps from www.talkytoaster.co.uk or http://www.openfietsmap.nl/downloads/europe
