I have just bought a NUVI 2595 with American maps for a forthcoming trip to the states. What I wish to do is use BaseCamp to create routes that I want to take and install them on the Nuvi. I then want to select that route, instead of asking the Nuvi to find a route, and then follow that route with turn-by-turn instructions.
I seem to be missing something as I don't seem to be able to do this. I did ask Garmin Support before I bought it if I could do this and was assured I could. (I have emailed back to person who confirmed it and am getting no response now)
So far I have imported a KML and KMZ file, converted it to a "Track" and converted it to a "Route" exported both, separately, to the Nuvi and all I get in Favourites is a huge list of waypoint. The only way I can see of using the Nuvi would be to say go to Favourites Way Point 1 and when I get there say go to Favourites Way Point 2 etc. Not very practical.
In browsing all the forums here I discovered "Trip Planner" and thought that's it. Flogged through replanning my first days route exported it to my Nuvi and, yes you guessed it, a long list of Waypoints.
Can anybody tell a) am I trying to do something that Garmin isn't capable of, or b) tell me the step(s) I missing here?
