I copied waypoints from BC (4.2.5) to a Nuvi755t and then copied the waypoints back to a different list in BC. Unfortunately the waypoint symbol changed from the original large red triangle to a dot. This problem did not occur with my Oregon 450t. Most likely, Garmin software (BC and MapSource) and Garmin hardware (Oregon 450t, Nuvi755t and eTrex Legend Cx) have some incompatible symbols. I have spent much time testing which symbols are compatible (that is, are not changed after an upload and download cycle).
1. Does Garmin provide an easy method to put the same waypoint symbols on all Garmin hardware and software?
2. Can I designate a master list of waypoints in BC that are not "accidentally" changed when I download from a device? This request seems difficult since BC maintains only one actual copy of a waypoint and all other copies are really only links to the one actual copy.
