Montana 600: from Basecam tracks uploaded, waypoints missing, Help!!!!!

Hi everybody,

I am getting crazy with my Montana 600 & Basecamp (both with latest firmware). I open the "gps.gpx" file with tracks & waypoints file (sent by Tuareg rallye organization) in Basecamp, both are there and visible in the map. I connect my Garmin Monatan 600 and upload the file: tracks appear with their set of waypoints to follow, but WAYPOINT MANAGER folder is empty! I try the "where to" function and waypoints are totally missing (there isn't even the direct folder where to go). If I then try to create a waypoint directly in Montana (just to check if anything else is wrong), it works properly and the point appears in the folder, furtermore even the "where to" function shows the waypoint option. :confused:

The crazy thing is that if I do same operation with my little Foretrex 401, everything is uploaded there without any problem (so file is not corrupted and Basecamp works properly too).

Please help me, this file (and its waypoint) will have to drive me along 2.500 Km in Tunisian desert in soon coming (2 weeks) Tuareg rallye!:( Thanks in advance for help :)

Do the waypoints show separately in Basecamp or are they just part of the route? If so they won't show in the waypoint list on your Montana.

ahi ahi, ok, you touched the point dear Moderator! Yes, they have been given as part of routes by rallye organization :-/ I will write to them for having also separately: in case I get lost in desert I usually stop following the route and use manual "where to" selecting best waypoint to get back to safest places the fastest possible.

In order to load also waypoint is there any specific request I have to do to data supplier (rallye organization)? And is there any specific procedure to load them in Basecamp and later into Montana or should I simply open in Basecamp and then download into Montana as I did with routes?

I have Montana with updated firmware.

All old waypoints disappeared from device today. Only the waypoints entered today are shown on device.

In Basecamp 4.4.6 all the old waypoints remain in a subfolder of "My Collection".

In Basecamp "Internal Storage" both old and new waypoints are all listed.

Sending from the "My Collection" subfolder to the device "Internal Storage" does not fix the problem on the device. The old waypoints are not shown on the device, just the new ones.

The waypoints are not part of a route.

Please help.

Update to post:

After saving "Internal Storage" to "My Collection" subfolder, I tried deleting waypoints using device. This failed. Then I deleted all device waypoints using Basecamp. Then I sent all waypoints from My Collection" subfolder to "Internal Storage". This fixed the problem
