After drawing a measure/bearing line from one point to another, I would then like to draw additional lines or select other options, while keeping the lines displayed. Currently, with the line drawn, clicking on any other option, removes the line from the display. Basically, to measure between two distant points, you need to zoom out to a point where areas at the ends become fairly congested with different map options. I would like to be able to zoom in on the ends to better view them with the map options more spread out. However, when clicking on the zoom option, the line disappears. Additionally, as mentioned, after drawing one line, I would like to keep it display while drawing additional lines. Thanks,
There are many instances in BaseCamp where you do not want to change the focus from one tool to another (example: measure tool to pan tool). There are multiple ways to accomplish changes to the visible map area.
Moving the Map:
1 Pan Tool (Hand)
2 Arrow Keys (small movement)
3 ctrl-Arrow keys (larger movement)
4 Place current tool near an edge of corner and use a left mouse click after the larger arrow appears
5 Overview Map Tool (When the cursor is inside the window, it behaves like the Pan Tool. The shaded area represents what is currently visible in the larger map pane.)
Toggling the Overview tool on and off will not change the focus of a tool. I suspect there may be other methods to accomplish these tasks.
