BaseCamp: Reading Charts Aborted

Hello all. I have attached an image of what I see in BaseCamp each time I connect my nuvi. If I hover the mouse over the red "progress" bar, the text "Reading Charts Aborted" is displayed in a tooltip.

Does anyone know what this means? The software and device appear to work normally.

The item you circled is the units basemap (a very basic map of the world). Perhaps the gmapbmap.img file on your 1490 has been corrupted. Not sure why BaseCamp refers to "charts" since that usually refers to marine charts.

The basemap will never be used unless you go to an area not covered by your CN NA NT2014.40 detailed maps.
