I've actually looked through the Garmin site to see if this was covered, but no joy. This is a device question, but it may apply to many and be somewhat useful in this forum.
I'm leaving for Europe tomorrow; my 2455 is loaded with several "trips" and the version of City Navigator Europe NT that was current when I downloaded it (2013.2). That's all good, but being a belt and suspenders (or braces) kind of guy, I'm bringing my 1490 along "just in case." Here's my question: will the 1490 support an 8 gig chip? I put a smaller capacity chip in it so that I could get all of North America in, but all I could find at the store was an 8 gig. I'm bringing it along only in case I need to buy & download the current version of City Navigator Europe in the event the 2455 takes a dump or gets lost/stolen.
What say you?
